Journey with a Blindfold

Let’s try it this way.  I want to try to walk you once across the minefield, without touching any of the mines.  I don’t know if this is possible.  Most of us have to have an arm or a leg blown off before we make it.  After that happens, some of us find the courage to make it across;  we figure, there’s nothing left to lose now.  We decide at that point that it’s worth it to try to dance our way across the Abyss, because there’s nothing worth having on this side anyway.  So we become willing to look at the creatures as they are, to fight them when necessary, sometimes just to avoid.

But you, you haven’t been able to walk across so far.  Maybe you’ve been too scared to try.  Intuitively you know that there’s something over there, something real, something worth getting to.  This is not for everyone, but if you’re reading this, this is probably for you.  Unless you’re one of the ones who’s been across and back and are just reading this out of curiosity, to see if I can make it work.  And maybe to see if I lose another limb in the process, we’ll see.

Not everyone can see; that’s the first thing you have to realize.  Some of these “things” are not like the others.    If you have the innate ability to see, maybe one of the things you do see, out of the corner of your eye, is that there are people and other things out there, that can see that you see, when you do.  Think about the Eye of Sauron.  And like I keep saying, watch this movie.   It was made to let people see without knowing they’re seeing.  Or without the ones who see them, to know that they’re seeing.

But if you are one of those ones in whose blood lies the ability to see, they can see that do.  And for generations they have been most careful to watch out for you.  If you have the blood of the kings, you may be one of these people.  The ability is indeed genetic.  If it’s not there, it’s not there.  It may be there in you, but not in your parents or your siblings.  Blood and inherited traits are like that.    So those who have eyes, to see, they have taken the most precautions to blind.

Most of the other animals who look somewhat like you are cattle milling around on the bank. They have no interest in crossing the bridge.  They see no reason to go there.  They are of no help to us, and they are no danger to the Enemy, the one who doesn’t want you to see.  No one is blinding them.  No one has to.  In their case, they are given what they need to keep them happy.  In this life, they all have cable TV, and lot of other cattle like them to tell them they are OK.   You don’t need to worry about them.

Then there are the wolves.  They don’t pass very easily for the cattle.  So usually they look like us.  They look like the ones who are aware.  And they are aware.  But they have been put here with a job, and there job is either to build those distractions, to put up those big DANGER! signs to keep you from seeing, or to punish you if you find a path to the other side, to knock you off that path.  Because once you find it, they can’t do anything to, other than ruin your life and kill you.  And at that point, once you’ve found your way across and know what’s there, those other things don’t matter so much anymore.

The truth is not really all that complicated.  It’s much simpler than the lies, as tends to happen.  It’s just that you can’t see it all at once, not starting from where you are.  Or I couldn’t; maybe it’s not that way for everyone.  I think there are some people who are  born with nothing to lose, who can see it right away.  We’ve read those stories about monks or miraculous beings who were just born enlightened.  I think there are those people, but most of the stories we are told are not about them, but about other people who are not like that, but have been made to look that way.  That doesn’t matter; you’re not one of them or you wouldn’t need to read this, and neither am I.

I got lucky, in some ways.  I wasn’t really on their radar, in the beginning.  There is nothing in my family history that would have led them to watch for me.  I was not of the noble blood, though I doubtless have some of it in me.  I think I looked like one of the useful ones, who could be trained to serve them.  I had unusual abilities.  People like me are very useful to them.  They use people like me to fight those who can see, and to keep the others peaceful.  I started out that way.  But I had a fatal flaw, I had self-destructive tendencies; tendencies that tried to take me down all the way, tried to kill me.   Tendencies that made me no longer useful to them; they wrote me off.

And when I got weak and stupid, they stopped watching me.  But I started to see things.  Things that inspired me at some point to realize it was worthwhile to throw off the chains with which I’d been bound.  To take a good look at the things I’d been taught not to see.  One at time.  Sometimes, these things scared me and I backed way up.  Sometimes I misunderstood them.  But eventually I saw and recognized enough true things, that the whole story could be revealed.

But that’s frustrating, because it would be nice to have company over here, so I want to tell you, too.  But if I do you will just put your hands over your ears and run screaming.  So put on this blindfold and walk with me and I’ll tell you things I think you can hear, and we’ll see.

If you can hear this, you probably have vague memories of having come “here”, to this life, for a purpose.  You may even remember that you were sent here.  You may remember that you were part of a squad, an original team, from way before you were born this time.   But you were all dispersed, and you may not have seen any of those other “people” since you got here.  Or maybe you have; but the faces you remember are not those people’s true faces.  It’s not they,  who wear those faces now.

You probably came into this life with the feeling that life was good, and then you became disappointed.    You may feel that where you came from, and where you should be is a good place, but here where you are now, something has gone badly wrong.  This is true.  Do you remember when you read Tolkien, how the woods had been tainted by evil? That is how this world is.  But be careful about evil; it is not what you think it is.  In certain matters, everything you’ve been taught is a lie.  Everything you’ve been told about the history of your people for the last century is a lie.  The good has been made out to be evil, and evil, good.  That is because the World is in the service of, and its appearance has been crafted by, the Demiurge.

The Demiurge is the one who has brought corruption into the world, and has done it so well and so long, that he now controls it.  You see that world is under the control of bad people, but when you look to see who they are, you can’t find them.  The finger has been pointed at the best, and they’ve been blamed for the worst.

You may think that the evil in the world has been caused by White people, or by Black people, or by Yellow ones;  but I doubt it, because if you’ve gotten this far, you probably know better than that.   You may think it’s been done by a political party.  Maybe you think it’s the rich people.  But most of those people are just like you.  You’ve probably been around some rich people who are genuinely good people.  I was schooled to be one of those people, or maybe one of their servants.  Maybe you were too, if you’re reading this.  But something went wrong.  Because if everything had gone the way they planned, you would’ve been too caught up in Maya to be reading this.  You would have been too happy with the illusions they gave you.

The remaining truth can sometimes best be found among the people who are least capable of seeing it.  They can’t do anything with it when they come across it, so the servants of the Demiurge leave it lying there in plain sight.  Some of the people you probably think are not very smart, know some things you really need to know, that you don’t know.  They are allowed to know those things, because they are not capable of doing anything with the knowledge.

You’ve probably tried looking at religion and philosophy.  Religion won’t get you there; the big three religions most people have, are specifically designed by and are explicitly, worship of the Demiurge.  There’s been enough truth, embedded in them to activate some of your higher instincts, your inner awareness and attraction to things that shine out to you as true.  But all those attractions, even those things that are true in themselves, can be used in the service of the Demiurge, and most frequently are.   Other religions have been allowed to retain partial truths, and come from traditions that were at one time specifically true. But those have been tainted, eroded, and neutralized.  You can find seeds.  Look for the truest remnants among those cultures which are degraded, but still produce people of understanding.  Philosophies tend to dance around the meaning, to journey but never arrive.

It’s one of the first things you see, that not all of the one people you see, can see you.   Did you ever play a big MMPORG and have trouble figuring out the difference between the other players and the NPC’s? It’s kind of like that.  Because you see, those people I described as wolves, are creatures like golems, like robots who were made to serve the Demiurge.  They do have functional understanding of a sort and they just look like you.  And those people who look like people but have no understanding? Beasts of the field.

So there are not many like you.  And They know who you are.  If your bloodline was likely to produce you, they have tried hard to breed your ancestors to the beast of the field, to dilute the blood so your children have no eyes to see.  And if you can see, your entire education, formal and informal, has been designed to mislead you.  The brightest hope has been portrayed to you as the darkest evil. The dark brown sludge has been covered with glitter.

That’s enough for now.  We risk ennui or oblivion, or at least a flinch reaction.  So if you’ve been able to take this little walk with me, try walking without me next time.  And summon up your courage, maybe, to life one little corner of the blindfold, and see just one true thing.  You’ll probably hate it.  But then, just maybe, you’ll be on your way.

But don’t look for the Demiurge.  He goes by another name entirely, and if you ever do look square in his face, he will see you, too, and are you really ready for that?
